How to save SpicyChat chats and continue a long roleplay
SpicyChat offers saved chats and cloning. A compact summary helps you carry the essential branch, character state, and next scene into the continuation.
Save the source chat, then capture the selected branch
Cloning can preserve an original conversation while you explore another direction. A summary should state which branch it represents and which details from the original remain true.
This avoids giving a fresh session several conflicting versions of the same event.
Signs it is time to make a continuity note

- A conversation has multiple alternate scenes.
- You need a small brief for a fresh chat rather than a very long log.
A practical SpicyChat preservation workflow
SpicyChat's saved-chat guide, checked 13 October 2026, says conversations save automatically. In the chat's top-right three-dot menu, use View Saved Chats, then Continue To Chat. To branch without changing the original, choose Clone Conversation, name it, and select a full or partial copy. These are in-platform records; keep a separate private text copy if you need an independent archive.
Use thredly to write the chosen branch as a clean state of play, including events that did not occur in other branches.

- A short instruction for the next session that states where the conversation should resume.
