How to export Kindroid chats and keep a portable record

Use Kindroid’s native account export first

Verify your account email, then open Profile → Preferences → Account privacy → Export data. Choose Export, then confirm Export data.

Kindroid emails a download link when the archive is ready; the link expires after 7 days. Export is normally available once every 30 days, with immediate retry after a failed export. It remains available after your trial or subscription ends.

The single .jsonl account archive includes settings, chat history (including groups and Rooms), journals and media references. Media are links, not embedded files.

Native export details checked 12 October 2026 against Kindroid’s official FAQ, updated 9 October 2026. This is a documentation check, not a hands-on export test. The FAQ gives no preparation-time guarantee, per-chat selector or restore/import procedure.

Signs it is time to make a continuity note

• You want a personal archive of a significant conversation.
• You are beginning a new arc and want a concise record of the previous one.
• You want to keep important details outside a single service.

A practical Kindroid preservation workflow

Save the original .jsonl archive privately. Extract only the intended conversation messages into a separate plain-text record; thredly does not import the whole Kindroid account archive.

If you cannot request or download an export, copy the accessible conversation text manually.

Turn the relevant exchange into a thredly summary that captures milestones, preferences, context, and open topics.

Store the raw text and summary together so the summary remains linked to the original record.

thredly is independent of Kindroid. It does not read Kindroid chats automatically. Copy a conversation section or use a native export when available, then paste or upload the text through thredly's supported web workflow.

What a useful handover should retain

• Character identity, personality, voice, and any user persona details that still matter.
• Names, relationships, boundaries, promises, preferences, and corrections that supersede earlier information.
• Important story events, locations, dates, running jokes, unresolved plot points, and the current objective.
• A short instruction for the next session that states where the conversation should resume.
